About Parrish Music
Parrish Musicwas founded in 2007 as a local music resource for Viroqua, Wisconsin. We expanded to a new space on Main Street in 2009 and have since become a regional resource for hard to find and unusual acoustic instruments, books and accessories. We also offer group and private instruction for guitar (electric and acoustic), bass, banjo, ukulele, flute, and voice.
Now there's a store in Western Wisconsin where you can try out all those instruments you've only heard about, such as an oud, sitar, doumbek or harmonium.
We have the largest ukulele inventory in the Midwest, along with a wide variety of unusual flutes from around the world.
We promote and present musical performances, recitals and workshops with guest musicians and students.

Ted Parrishhas been a professional musician for over 25 years. Primarily a blues guitarist, he has led numerous blues ensembles including the Bucktown Barbeque Boys, an acoustic jug band that played regularly at Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago for 10 years. He also played slack key guitar and ukulele with Lanialoha Lee in the Hawaiian band Ku’pono. Ted currently leads the Driftless region’s very own Bad Axe Blues Band, and plays with Catherine every month in an acoustic setting at the Driftless Café in Viroqua. Ted taught for many years at Chicago’s venerable Old Town School of Folk Music, and managed the Different Strummer music store for 15 years. Ted manages Parrish Music and teaches guitar, bass, banjo, and ukulele.
Catherine Hallis also a professional musician, with a degree in voice and music education from the University of Illinois, and advanced studies in North Indian flute and voice. She helped develop the Wiggleworms music program at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and later created her own successful Junior Jubilee music program for small children. Catherine was a key member of the group Mosaic, and has since sang and played flute and guitar on four of her own recordings, and recordings from Ella Jenkins and others. Catherine is the visionary of Parrish Music, and teaches voice and flute.
